Amy Moore Soprano
Amy Moore is a young professional singer, based in London. Formerly a choral scholar as an undergraduate at Royal Holloway University, Amy now enjoys a variety of professional choral and consort singing, as well as developing her emerging solo career, in both oratorio and recital.
Amy is privileged to sing regularly with a number of ensembles, including Tenebrae, The Gabrieli Consort, The Tallis Scholars, Polyphony, The Sixteen, The English Concert and The BBC Singers, with whom Amy toured Mexico in October 2006, and is also a member of The Choir of All Saints, Margaret Street, under the direction of Paul Brough. She especially enjoys consort work, performing last autumn in the Brighton Early Music Festival alongside fellow 'young singers' as well as established artists, including Emma Kirkby and Andrew Carwood. Amy also sings with the consort La Grande Chappelle, most recently performing a stirring programme of Spanish profane music at the music festival in Madeira.
As a soloist, her repertoire is varied, spanning composers from Bach, Buxtehude and Purcell, to Messiaen and Poulenc, taking in, amongst others, Handel, Mozart and Rossini along the way.
In addition to her performing work, Amy also teaches singing at Chigwell School. She directed and conducted the Chigwell student performances of Purcell's Dido and Aeneas last year and Mozart's Magic Flute earlier this year. Amy studies singing with Sophie Grimmer.
