Michelle Daly Mezzo Soprano
Dublin born Michelle Daly recently made her Royal Opera House debut as Ninetta in the Olivier Award winning production of Verdi's Les Vepres Siciliennes conducted by Antonio Pappano. Also for the ROH, she covered the role of Pisana in Verdi's I due Foscari starring Placido Damingo, Third Nymph in Dvorak's Rusalka, Third Innocent in Birtwistle's The Minotaur and Anna in David McVicar's Les Troyens (Berlioz). Other roles include Dorabella (Cosi Fan Tutte) at the Windsor festival, Polly Peacham (The Beggars Opera) with the Liverpool Philharmonic and Cornelia (Giulio Cesare) for the COR and Bloomsbury Festival.
For ENO Michelle has performed the roles of Feklusha in Katya Kabanova (Janacek) which was broadcast by the BBC and Cretan Woman (Idomeneo). Also for ENO, Michelle has covered Third Lady (The Magic Flute) Madam Larina (Eugene Onegin) and Vlasta in Weinburg's The Passenger (UK Premiere). Michelle has performed the chorus of Die Meistersinger Von Nürnberg for Glyndebourne Festival Opera.
Michelle's concert work includes an opera gala at the Barbican and Opera and the American Songbook at the National Concert Hall, Dublin. Oratorio includes Mozart's Requiem at Saint Martin in the Fields, Rossini's Petit Messe Solenelle, Messiah for Putney Choral Society and Elijah for the Jubilate Choir, Dublin.
Michelle has been a Wexford Festival Opera Young Artist and a Britten-Pears Young Artist for whom she performed The Faery Queen (Purcell) at Snape Maltings. Michelle trained in at the RNCM and the GSMD and obtained a masterís degree in performance.
