Tenor Thomas Elwin is Leverhulme Scholar on the Opera course at the Royal Academy of Music. A former Head Chorister of St. Paul's Cathedral, Thomas completed an MA from the Royal Academy of Music in 2011. Along with Tamino (Die Zauberflote), Thomas has sung Madwoman (Curlew River) and Don Ottavio (scenes) with Royal Academy Opera (RAO). Thomas continues to study with Ryland Davies and Audrey Hyland.

On stage Thomas has performed: Madwoman (Curlew River - RAO), Nemorino (HGO), Ferrando (Shadwell Opera and Jackdaws) and Tamino (Welwyn Garden). Scenes at RAM include Ferrando, Lindoro (L'italiana) and Lionel (Martha). Thomas has also performed with Garsington Opera and Opera Unlimited. Future appearances include The Magic Flute at the International Bath Music Festival and concert performances of Delius' Fennimore and Gerda.

Highlights of Thomas's song performances include: Schumann - Dichterliebe and Liederkreis, Britten - Winter Words, Serenade and Nocturne, Tippett - The Hearts Assurance and Barber - Op.10 and Op.43. Recent highlights include a Christmas Lieder Recital in the Oxford Lieder Festival and at the Austrian Cultural Forum.

In concert Thomas has performed much of the standard oratorio repertoire including: Bach passions (arias and Evangelist), Messiah, Rossini Petite Messe, Mozart Requiem and Monteverdi Vespers.
