A warm welcome awaits you at Wokingham Choral Society

We are a large enthusiastic hard-working amateur choir with a reputation for staging excellent concerts with high quality professional orchestras and soloists. We perform two major concerts each season and a Christmas carol concert, plus a summer concert featuring a lighter selection of choral music.

This season we have vacancies in all parts: sopranos, altos, tenors and basses.

Rehearsals take place in the School Hall of The Emmbrook Senior School, Emmbrook Road, Wokingham RG41 1JP from 7.30pm to 9.45pm each Thursday.

You are welcome to sit in on one or two rehearsals at any time before making any decisions.

We are particularly keen to encourage young singers, and so we are offering bursaries to sixth form students and a substantially reduced subscription to anyone who is 25 years old and under. This is a brilliant opportunity to experience the awesome feeling of singing with a choir of 110 mixed voices. You can all be assured of a welcome and support from fellow members

For more information please contact the Membership Secretary, Angela Smith by email or call her on 07810 574765.

CALLING ALL TENORS & BASSES!

WOKINGHAM CHORAL SOCIETY is the major mixed choir in the Wokingham area with around 120 dedicated and enthusiastic members. In 2012 we celebrated our Diamond Jubilee Anniversary Season with a highly acclaimed performance of Monteverdi's Vespers. In 2013 we performed Bach's B Minor Mass and David Fanshawe's African Sanctus followed in 2014 by Rachmaninov's Vespers and Verdi's mighty Requiem.

We have a professional Musical Director and Accompanist and normally perform with professional soloists and orchestras.

To continue our success we are especially looking for more Tenors (male and female) & Basses to strengthen these voice sections. You will be warmly welcomed into the choir and will receive any help you may need. We are especially interested in hearing from singers who may already be singing with a church choir, or have similar experience with other choirs. We perform a wide variety of music styles.

If you would prefer to have an initial chat, please feel free to call our Tenor Representative, Alison Sears on 07721 330260 or by email, or Bass Representative Charlie Cornish on 07979 864843 or by email, who will be delighted to answer your questions.
