WCS presented cheques to three charities, totalling £472.50, from a retiring collection made at the WCS concert in December 2017. The charities were Keep Mobile, WADE and Crossroads Care. Mayor of Wokingham, Cllr. Peter Lucey also attended as two of the charities (Keep Mobile, WADE) are the Mayor's Charities this year.

WCS Chamber Choir, a smaller group of singers drawn from the main choir, is available to perform at weddings, funerals, receptions, parties or any other special event. We can help to select suitable works to enhance that special occasion.
It depends on the number of singers and your choice of music, but the suggested donation can be as little as £200.
"The choir's performance was as professional as ever and really added that special something. We would be happy to recommend you." KK, Windsor
"You were amazing...hearing the beautiful sound was truly lovely." HM, Reading
Bach: St. John Passion "The subtlety of interpretation from the
combined musical resources resulted in a profoundly uplifting experience in an ideal setting."
Purcell: Dido & Aeneas "The choir engaged
the audience with clear diction and remarkable dynamic contrasts."
Mozart: Great Mass in C minor "Another triumph
for Wokingham Choral Society..deservedly acknowledged by the audience with rapturous applause."
Handel: Dixit Dominus "...makes daunting demands upon
the human voice, more akin to orchestral writing. The performance took the choir to a new level of achievement."
Mendelssohn: Elijah "A heavenly chorus
uses energy to retell Mendelssohn's Elijah..."
Bach Mass in B minor "...a stunning performance
of Bach's monumental Mass in B minor.
The rapt attention of the audience and its exuberant applause spoke volumes."
African Sanctus "...their performance of
African Sanctus by David Fanshawe was electrifying.
The singers were wonderful, especially the choirs' sopranos rendering war dance notes."
Mozart Requiem "...captured Mozart's exploration
of the range of emotions roused by an acute awareness of mortality."
Bach Christmas Oratorio "...well balanced and incisive
and captured perfectly the contrasting moods of the reflective chorales and the distinctive choruses."
