Doreen Curran joined Wokingham Choral Society at Eton School Hall on 25th March 2006 to perform Mendelssohn's Elijah.

Doreen Curran studied with Anne Marie O'Sullivan at the Dublin Institute of Technology College of Music, where she obtained a first class honours degree and gold medal, then continued her studies at the Royal Northern College of Music and the National Opera Studio, London.

She has won awards in the Veronica Dunne International Competition, the Bellini Festival in Sicily, the Belvedere International singing competition in Vienna, RTE Irish Young Singer of the Future and the West Belfast Classical Bursary. She has performed with the National Symphony and Concert Orchestra of Ireland, the Ulster Orchestra, Irish Chamber Orchestra and the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. At the RNCM Doreen sang Meg/Falstaff and Polina/Queen of Spades. She has sung the role of Dido in Dido and Aeneas for Lyric Opera Dublin, Lismore County Waterford and Broomhill Opera, Zoe/La Fiamma, Wexford Festival, Lola/Cavalleria Rusticana, Mercedes/Carmen, Glyndebourne Touring Opera and for ATAO Opera Tenerife, Cherubino/Le nozze di Figaro for Savoy Opera and Garsington Opera, Kate Pinkerton/Madame Butterfly for Opera Project, Kate/Pirates of Penzance for ENO, Ciesca/Gianni Schicchi and Second Lady/ Die Zauberflote for Opera Ireland.

Most recent opera engagements include Clione/Penelope, Wexford Festival Opera and Ernestine/ L'occassione fa il Ladro in the Wexford Opera scenes, Ottavia/L'incoronazione di Poppea.

Future engagements include Dorabella/Così fan tutte, Holland Park and a reprise of the role of Ottavia for Buxton and Aldeburgh Festivals.
