Katherine Manley joined Wokingham Choral Society at Eton College

Katherine Manley Soprano
Born and educated in Leicester, Katherine Manley gained a BMus Hons at the RSAMD and recently graduated from the Benjamin Britten International Opera School, RCM, with a distinction. She continues to study with Lillian Watson. A Samling Foundation Scholar, Katherine has also been supported by a Wingate Scholarship, a Leicestershire County Council Award and the Ian Fleming MBF Award.
Operatic roles include Seleuce Tolomeo, (The London Handel Players- BBIOS), Pastori Orfeo (English National Opera), Elmira in a performance of Handel's Sosarme (BBIOS), Belinda Dido and Aenaes and Cuzzoni in the Handel and Hendrix project ?Time Flows? with Streetwise Opera.
She has also studied the roles of Susanna Le nozze di Figaro, Fox, The Cunning Little Vixen and Helena, Mid-Summer Night's Dream.
Concert highlights include work with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, the London Mozart Players, the Brandenburg Sinfonia and the Philharmonia Orchestra. Katherine has sung at the Wigmore Hall, St John's Smith Square and the Royal Albert Hall. She has given live broadcasts for BBC Radio 3, and in 2006 took part in l'Academie d'Aix-en-Provence.
This past autumn Katherine has been singing Musica and Euridice Orfeo, Seleuce Tolomeo, Aldimira Erismena, and Historicus Jephte with English Touring Opera.
Forthcoming engagements include the role of Uxor Pilati in the staged performance of the Saint Matthew Passion with Glyndebourne Festival Opera and in the same season she will cover the role of Despina. Katherine also looks forward to recitals in Prague.
