Lorna Perry            Mezzo Soprano

Lorna Perry was born in Llanaravon, South Wales. She attended the Junior Music School at the London College of Music studying recorder, violin and voice. Musical education continued at Southampton University, where she obtained a 2:1 Combined honours in German and Music.

Lorna is a regular singer at St Etheldreda's, Ely Place, London and is a valued member of several specialist choral groups including Encoro, Vox Musica, CC21 and The Joyful Company of Singers with whom she has taken solo roles at the Cadogan Hall, St John Smiths Square, St Martin in the Fields, Presteigne Festival, Anghiari Festival, and the Gütersloh contemporary festival in Germany.

Lorna is in great demand as an oratorio and concert soloist in her own right. Solo Performances include Elgar Dream of Gerontius and Sea Pictures; Dvorak Stabat Mater; Vivaldi Gloria; Handel Messiah and Dixit Dominus; Haydn Harmoniemesse; Lambert Rio Grande; Karl Jenkins The Armed Man; Pergolesi Stabat Mater; Rossini Petite Messe Solonelle, Bach Christmas Oratorio and Magnificat, Rachmaninov Vespers, Mendelssohn Elijah; and Mozart Mass in C Minor, Requiem and Coronation Mass.

Operatic roles include Third Lady in The Magic Flute and Mrs Jones in Street Scene by Kurt Weill. Lorna has performed at the Deddington Festival singing Mrs Noye in Britten's Noye's Fludde, the Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas and Tiger in Cecilia McDowell's eco opera King Leo. In 2011 she performed the role of Rosina, in Rossini's Barber of Seville at the inaugural Ilmington Festival.

In November 2014, Lorna will perform the mezzo solos in Verdi's Requiem in Leamington Spa.
