Ruth Massey joined Wokingham Choral Society
at Eton College School Hall on
30 March 2003 performing Vivaldi's
Coronation Anthems (including Zadok the Priest) and Handel's
Ode on St. Cecilia's Day.
Ruth Massey Mezzo-Soprano
Ruth graduated in Law from the University of Cambridge in 1999, where she was a Choral Scholar at Clare College and studied singing with David Lowe and Margaret Humphrey-Clark. She has performed as a soloist with many ensembles, including the New Cambridge Singers, the Bach Society and the Cambridge Baroque Ensemble. She now works regularly with a number of professional groups, including the BBC Singers, Polyphony, the Young Professionals of London and the Cambridge Singers. She has taken part in masterclasses with Diane Forlano and Mark Wildman.
Singing has so far taken her to the USA, Canada, Iceland, Bulgaria and Madeira. Closer to home, Ruth has recently performed Mozart Requiem in the Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford, Duruflé Requiem in King's College Chapel, Cambridge and Brahms Sehnsucht in the Barbican. Operatic roles to date include Orindo (Handel Admeto), Cherubino (Mozart Marriage of Figaro), Witch (Goehr Tryptych) and Medoro (Handel Orlando).
